Losing weight should not be done in a vacuum. The more we can vent, share and motivate each other, the easier the journey becomes. You may not have someone nearby that you can talk to about your weight loss trials and tribulations, but there’s always the internet. Check out these ten great weight loss blogs.
1.The Token Fat Girl – I love this chick. She’s been overweight her whole life and has been through all the troubles that go along with obesity. She moved to New York and has been seriously working on losing weight and blogging about it. She’s lost 50 pounds and has some great ideas about style at any size.
2.Escape from Obesity – This is the blog of a mom on a mission. She’s lost 90 pounds, and shares her tips, her heartaches and her triumphs.
3.Fat Bridesmaid – The author of Fat Bridesmaid used to weigh 340 pounds. She has taken off quite a bit of weight and has a wonderful saucy attitude to go along with some practical tips about losing weight, along with staying happy and looking good while you do it.
4.Fat Man Unleashed – Most weight loss blogs are written by women, but here’s a really good one by a man. Israel, the blog’s author has weighed as much as 348 pounds. He’s lost just over 60 and plans to blog until he gets back to his normal weight of around 220. Before gaining weight, he worked out and was in great shape, so he has some good tips for using exercise to help you meet your goals.
5.101 Reasons I Hate Being Fat – Karaoke Kitty, the blog’s author, lists reasons she hates being fat (she’s up to 106 now), along with her journey to lose the weight. She’s lost 75 pounds so far.
6.110 Pounds and Counting – This is one of the most inspirational weight loss blogs out there. She has lost over 100 pounds and kept it off. And, she lived her life to the fullest while she was on the weight loss journey.
7.Do You Have That in my Size? – This is also a very inspiring weight loss blog. Though the author is still on her weight loss journey, her blog is an inspiration to read because she’s going through lots of things besides trying to lose weight. She’s dealing with bipolar disorder, menopause and weight loss all at once.
8.Pasta Queen – Jeanette Fulda lost a lot of weight and wrote a book about it called Half Assed. She continues to blog about her struggles with weight and about other issues in her life. She’s quite funny and inspirational at the same time.
9.Follow the Fat Girl – Another blog from someone who has had lifelong weight struggles, this author lost over 150 pounds and gained nearly all of it back.
10.Sparkpeople – This isn’t so much a blog, as a weight loss community. Thousands of people belong to the site (it’s free) and they use its tools, like nutrition tracker, etc to help on their journey. But, many of them also blog, and some of their stories are amazing. If you’re struggling with your weight, this is a site you definitely want to join.
